Situated on the 2nd floor of the Condominium D. Manuel I at the exclusive Marina de Lagos and facing the swimming pools (adult's plus children's) that serve only this condominium, the apartment is 10 minutes from the centre of town, where you can enjoy a meal or shop. The apartment is also within walking distance of the beach and 2 minutes walking distance from a major supermarket.

The Marina is well served with cafes, bars and restaurants and here you can arrange a variety of tours and day trips. The apartment is only between 10 to 30 minutes drive from a range of golf courses.

ACCOMMODATION DETAILS:

New relaxing and contemporary holiday apartment with a total area of 112 m2 comprising:

Two large bedrooms with fitted cupboards, one with a double bed and safe for your valuables, and the other with two single beds.
Flat screen TV, DVD player, mini-hifi.
2 bathrooms (1 en-suite and 1 with wall mounted hair dryer).
Large lounge/dining room with sliding doors into balcony with table and four chairs.
Air conditioning/heating.
Cable TV, DVD player.
24 Hour security.
Kitchen fitted with oven & hob, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine, fridge freezer, toaster, kettle, orange juicer, coffee maker, iron and ironing board, vacuum cleaner and electric sweeper.

Bed linen and towels provided, but no beach towels.

The apartment is clean on arrival and towels are changed mid week, with a quick tidy, for a one week stay. Bed linen is changed after one week, for those that stay more than one week.

Smoking is preferred on the balcony, as some guests do not like the smell of cigarettes.

OUTSIDE:

A small and separate balcony leads off the kitchen for drying the laundry.
BBQ is not permitted on the balcony or swimming pool area.

The swimming pool area is provided with sun loungers and umbrellas.
There are also men and women changing rooms behind the pool area
 

FURTHER DETAILS:

Lagos is a historic town which was originally dominated by the Moors. It was conquered in 1249, but it was only later with the explosion of the discoveries that Lagos became even more important due to its geographic situation, as a major port and trading centre. It was from here that the Portuguese navigators set sail to discover the Cape of Good Hope.

Today we can still admire its medieval walls and enjoy the beautiful view over the town, the bay and the mountains of Monchique. There are also churches, like the 17th century gold church of Santo António, and a modern Cultural Centre in which various exhibitions and cultural events are held during the year. There are quiet walks along the winding and narrow roads of the old town to enjoy. If you prefer more mundane activities, you can choose between shopping in the large variety of boutiques spread through the town, sitting at a café or enjoying a meal at one of the many restaurants the town has got to offer.

In the Marina you can book boat trips, BBQ cruises, grotto trips, dolphin watching and most water sports, such as scuba diving, snorkel, parasailing, sailing and big game fishing. Lagos has also got a Zoo park and is not far from a water theme park.

DISTANCE TO AIRPORT:

The apartment is situated 50 minutes by car from Faro airport.
 

DISTANCE TO BEACH:

Meia Praia beach, famous for its vast length of sand and its clear waters, is 15 minutes walk away from the apartment, and less than 5 minutes by car. There are other smaller beaches nearby, like D. Ana, with its caves and rocks.

Palmares golf course and Boa Vista golf course are both only 10 minutes drive from the apartment. Carrying on from Boa Vista in the direction of Sagres for another 15 minutes (approx.) you arrive at the beautiful complex of Parque da Floresta, with its own golf course. There are two other golf courses nearby, towards the Monchique hills.
 

CAR HIRE:

Although you can get from Faro airport by taxi or by train (the train station is located next door to the Marina), it is advisable to hire a car, so that you can fully explore the beautiful area around Lagos.
 

CHANGEOVER DAY:

In order to take advantage of cheaper airfares, we are flexible regarding changeover day.
 

BOOKING ARRANGEMENTS:

To guarantee your holiday we ask for 20% deposit rounded up to the nearest ten pounds, which will be deducted from the total cost when the balance is due, up to 6 weeks before departure.

In order to organize your stay we ask for details of your flights to and from Faro, as well as if you have special requests, such as a Welcome Pack (paid separately) or someone greeting you on arrival.
